Home from the Philippines by God’s Grace
Monday, December 21
Dear family, brethren, and friends,
By God’s grace I safely arrived home tonight and it was a joy as always to see Donna again! The trip with Steven Saunders and Jim Barnett was very productive, especially in training song leaders. Jim and Steven also made it safely to their homes a few days ago. Thank you for all of your prayers during these past three weeks of travel and teaching. God willing, I will send a short report of the trip soon.
Once again I am thankful to God and indebted to my Filipino brethren for the opportunities afforded me to preach the gospel in the Philippines. My faith, hope, and love are always strengthened and my life is enriched beyond measure by working hand in hand with our dear Filipino brethren. Thank you to all the Filipino saints who have extended your time, hospitality, and many sacrifices to aid in the work we do together. Our endeavors are team efforts and never a “one man show.” I am always edified and encouraged by the labors of Philippine saints.
As always when I return from these trips, hundreds of email messages are waiting attention. I must go out of town tomorrow, then the next day prepare to teach the lesson on the book of Isaiah, and meanwhile I will be trying to fulfill various duties to my family and to the local church here. Therefore, I do not know when I can read and respond to so many email messages. I only know to trust in God to help me and to do my best. I ask your patience and understanding. I am not intentionally ignoring anyone, but I must somehow find some time to rest while also giving attention to all of these matters. At the age of 69, I must confess I cannot function like a twenty year old person these days!
May God bless you all to have a safe and enjoyable holiday season with your families, and may God grant us all a happy and productive New Year in serving Him!
In Christian love,
Ron Halbrook
