Dear brethren,

The gospel of Christ will be preached July 3-August 2 on my 71st Philippine trip after Jim McDonald first took me in 1995.  Zach and Taya Martin will join the trip.  He will have finished his first year of medical school and she is a school teacher, but both put the highest priority on teaching God’s Word.  We go because precious souls seek God in the spirit of Psalm 63:1, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.”

After our arrival in Manila on July 4, the next morning Filipino brethren will assist us in repacking boxes of Bibles and study materials brought on the plane to be distributed as we travel and teach.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

First, I would like to introduce myself to each of you. My name is Zach Martin and I am a fellow brother in Christ who worships at Hebron Lane Church of Christ in Shepherdsville, KY where Ron Halbrook and David Dann are evangelists. As a 16-year-old, I decided to start attending Hebron Lane with my girlfriend (Taya Rush) in 2010. A couple of years later, I submitted my life to Christ in baptism. Since then, my girlfriend inherited my last name through marriage (6/10/16) and we have continued to grow in faith and love. Currently, Taya teaches Pre-K at Okolona Elementary school and I am a first-year medical student at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Dear brethren,

Plans are made for my 69^th preaching trip to the Philippines and my 7^th trip to Australia January 30–February 20.  I thank God for Jim McDonald first bringing me to the Philippines in 1995.  We press forward in this work, knowing God’s purpose in Jesus who died and rose for our salvation: “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:9-11, NIV).  Every creature in heaven and earth, now living or dead, will bow the knee to Jesus Christ in this life or on Judgment Day. Some do so willingly and receive the reward of heaven, while a host of sinners will do so reluctantly when they receive their righteous judgment to hell.  We must call men to salvation before it is too late!

The flights on January 30-31 will bring me to Manila in the Philippines.  The next day Filipino brethren will meet me to re-pack six boxes of Bibles and study materials for distribution at various venues.

Dear brethren,

November 28-December 19 will make my 68^th preaching trip to the Philippines and my 8^th trip to New Zealand.  I am ever thankful for Jim McDonald starting me in this work in 1995. First principles of the gospel will be emphasized with confidence they will bear fruit to the salvation of souls and the glory of God.  Paul thanked God for the faith and love of the saints at Colosse “that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth” (Col. 1:3-6, NIV).  Yes, the gospel bears fruit “all over the world” including the Philippines and New Zealand!

After flying from Louisville, KY to Manila in the Philippines November 28-29, I will ship six boxes loaded with Bibles, study materials, and a few personal items like eye glasses.  Filipino brethren will meet me and help to re-pack these materials for shipment to various places in the Philippines.

Dear brethren,

The next Philippine preaching trip August 1-29 will be number 67 since Jim McDonald first took me in 1995.  I plan to edify saints, preach to the lost, and conduct training classes for preachers.  John saw visions of angels who announced God’s wrath on Rome for idolatry, immorality, and persecuting Christians.  One angel proclaimed “the everlasting gospel” of victory to martyred saints and defeat to their enemies:  “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” (Rev. 14:6).  The everlasting gospel still proclaims victory to God’s faithful saints and defeat to all Satan’s forces today!

I will arrive in Manila late on the evening of August 3. Thursday Filipino brethren will meet me to ship boxes of teaching materials ahead to the venues where they will be used.

Dear brethren,

God opened a door for me to join Jim McDonald preaching in the Philippines in 1995 and a door is now open for my 65^th trip February 16-March 7.  This trip is shorter than usual because I will visit only Manila and northern Luzon.  The main goal is to edify and encourage saints who suffered from the terrible typhoon in October.  Benevolence funds have been sent as much as possible, but the recovery is slow.  They need not only financial help but also strengthening of their faith.  Satan demanded Jesus to turn stones to bread, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4).

After arriving in Manila, I will make some preparations such as visiting a moneychanger and sorting boxes of books to be shipped ahead.  On Sunday I will preach in Manila and then start the long journey which will carry me across a large swath of northern Luzon.
