Ron Home April 26
10:00 PM April 26, 2016th Year of Our Lord
Dear family, brethren, and friends,
This is just a quick note to let everyone know I have arrived home safely from the Philippines to find my beloved Donna well, by God’s grace. She just arrived here last night after visiting her mother and her sisters in Texas. Our prayers have been answered for our safety in these travels.
Once again I have been blessed to have a small part in the work of the gospel alongside Filipino saints who are laboring for the salvation of souls. This is a harvest time in their culture very similar to what we experienced in American culture in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. The Philippines suffers from economic poverty and frequent natural disasters, but many of its people are weary of the deceptions of Catholicism, denominationalism, and the darkness of sin. They are humbly and sincerely searching for the truth of God, and when they hear it taught directly from the Bible as God’s Word, they respond by obeying the gospel. Faithful Filipino brethren are engaged in the great work of saving souls and edifying the saints day in and day out, and they are developing elders and deacons in established congregations. My heart is always lifted up to see their unselfish and sacrificial service in the kingdom of God. I hope and pray that my small efforts will encourage their greater efforts and never hinder them.
I will send out a final report as soon as possible.
I extend my deepest appreciation to everyone who helps this work through prayer and financial sacrifices. I am far behind on reading email messages from the U.S., the Philippines, and other parts of the world. As time permits, I will do my best to read them, but the delay in unavoidable.
Let us continue to pray for thousands of brethren who are suffering from a year long drought in the Philippines. Some help has been sent when possible, but I do not have sufficient contacts and financial resources to solve this massive problem. I am sure some Filipino brethren are disappointed in my efforts, but all of us are daily reminded we are small and we are dust, and we must put our trust in God not man.
In Christian love,
Ron Halbrook
