Jhun Bautista’s Report On Cabanatuan City Church Building

[slideshow id=9]

I attached some pictures for you to see the recent progress of the construction of our church building in Cabanatuan City.  We were thankful for the $500 you gave on April and helped much to move forward our building construction.  From the help you gave, we added 15, 000 from our church treasury, 10, 000 pesos again from individuals, and we borrowed 10, 000 pesos.  Right now we are ready for putting the steel trusses roof and galvanized iron sheet, steel windows, and doors.  We are sure if we completed the materials, then we could be able to use now the church building for our services even the floorings are not yet cemented.  We need almost 200,000 pesos ($4,800) more to get these materials.

Brother Jim McDonald gave $500 too with his recent trip here.  We were thankful for it and a great help for the construction.  We need $4,300 more.  The brethren here are willing to continue to give from their individual pockets as they did before.  We decided that we can give from individuals here $1,300.  From this we are soliciting about $3,000 more to complete the materials and we could be able to use the building.  I hope you are encouraged when you see the progress of our building construction.

I am praying that you would have again planning to come in our country shortly.  I hope you would be able to come in Cabanatuan to see our church building and will preach even only for one day.  You are welcome here.

Thanks for your continued love for the the work of the Lord in our country.  We appreciate your love to the Filipino saints.  May our Almighty God will continue to bless you richly.

In His service,

JHUN BAUTISTA

Small Buildings in Maconacon, Isabella Region

[singlepic id=63 w=480 h=400 float=]A few years ago I flew in a small plane over high mountains on Luzon to reach a remote part of the Isabela Province in a place called Maconacon.  We had to swim a river to reach the place where people were gathered and waiting for us to preach.  The river was in flood stage and Rody Gumpad almost drowned.

An outpost for the truth is now well established in that region and the brethren are trying to erect two small church buildings, one at Mercedez and one at Flores.  They need $550 at each place to get a roof of the buildings.[singlepic id=62 w=400 h=320 float=right]

This is another example of the work we are doing in trying to help those who help themselves.

In Christian love,

Ron Halbrook

Report from Pascual Cempron

Warmest greetings from Lapacan Sur, Buenavista, Bohol![slideshow id=6]

How are you today my dear Brother? I hope all is well in Christ Jesus nowadays.

The new converts (my relatives) donated “gemelina trees” so that we could build our own building.

Our lumber materials are almost completed and ready, if we have enough budgets for the continuation of our work.

The building was constructed now in the portion of land that was left by my late parents as our family’s inheritance.

We are now praying to God for funds so that we continue our work next week. We need around thirty thousand pesos (Php30, 000.00) so that we could finished and use this building as our new place of worship.

The new converts, and my family are humbly asking your kind heart to share a little counterpart funds to finish our building construction. Please help us, bro Ron.

We are constructed a 20×20 dimension of our building. But if we have sufficient funds I’ll make it 20×30.

New Building in Cabanatuan City

Brother Celestino “Jhun” Bautista is a sound stable steady saint and longtime gospel preacher who lives at 128 BRIONES VILLAGE, SAN ISIDRO, CABANATUAN CITY, NUEVA ECIJA 3100 in the Philippines.  Jim McDonald, faithful preacher in Lufkin, TX, has known Jhun for many years and has full confidence in him.  I have visited Jhun and the brethren meeting in his home in Cabanatuan City, and we have worked together.  They have outgrown his house and sacrificed to start a church building, but their efforts have been stalled by lack of funds.  These pictures show the present state of the construction as of January 2012.  We hope to find funds to help these brethren, a prime example of helping those who first help themselves.

Update on Funds for the Bangalore India Property and Building

My many thanks to all who have contributed to the “Help a Neighbor Fund” for the monies needed to purchase property and then building supplies for the brethren there to build a meeting place to meet and worship God. As of date (mid-January 2011) there is a total of some $22,000.00 in the “Help a Neighbor Fund” that brother Ron Halbrook is using to receive monies for this project and the monies in the bank in Red Oak Texas that brother Le Roy Klice is taking care of. Tom Roberts is serving as the accountant for these funds and enters all contributions in the ledger he is using. All contributions will receive a tax credit from Ron Halbrook and the tax exempt status that has been granted him by the IRS.

Damaged building at Pagudpud

Front of building at Pagudpud

Abraham Aguete (Caunayan, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte 2919, Republic of the Philippines) with the local brethren labored and sacrificed, and some Americans added funds, in order to construct a church building for the saints meeting at Pagudpud in the Ilocos Norte Province.  I have preached there and this is a good stable church.

Church at Cordon, Isabela Province

Brethren at Cordon, Isabela Province

The church at Cordon, Isabela Province, has existed since the early 1970’s. American military men helped put up a nice church building, but in recent years it was literally rotting and in danger of falling on the brethren. This is a large congregation of 100 or more, and during gospel meetings it definitely has more at times.

Carpentero and Kapitbahayan Updates

God willing, later today I will start my 30th trip to the Philippines (Mar. 27-May 4).  It is 2:00 A.M. but I am determined to get this encouraging information out before leaving town.  Help A Neighbor is a useful avenue for individuals to provide poor Filipinos some things beyond their reach in the spirit of Matthew 22:39, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”  A gift of $500 or more toward such efforts is tax deductible: Help A Neighbor acts for charitable purposes as defined by the IRS Code section 501(C) 3.       Honnielyn Carpentero to Graduate from Nursing School. One of our first goals was to aid a widow named Linma Carpentero in helping her daughter Hannie Lynn (“Honnielyn”) finish nursing school.  Cipriano–faithful husband, father, and preacher–died an untimely death in late 2005.  Generous gifts amounting to $6,640 have been given and we hope soon to announce Honnielyn’s graduation!

Church Building for Kapitbahayan Church of Christ in Manila Nearing Completion. In July 2007 we started gathering funds to help the saints of the Kapitbahayan church to pursue their plan in constructing a meeting house.  They met for many years in a borrowed facility used by denominational groups, but had outgrown this facility.  Visitors sometimes attended the denominational groups thinking they had found the church of Christ.  For the past year I have watched this project progress.  On February 4, 2008 I preached two lessons on the history and translation of the Bible to 100 people gathered on the first floor and soon thereafter it was finished.  Brethren from Manila and surrounding regions were invited to attend an all-day gospel meeting on February 29.  An overflow crowd attended, six were baptized, others were restored, and there was great rejoicing by all!  The second floor and some finishing work can be completed for $2,000-$3,000.  To see the new building go to www.hebronlanechurch.com, click on “Sermons,” and open at “Mar. 2, 2008,  Ron Halbrook,  Bringing In Filipino Sheaves.”
