Dear brethren,
By God’s good providence, plans are complete to preach in England, France, and the Philippines January 30-February 28, my 73rd Philippine trip since first going with Jim McDonald in 1995. The London and Paris stops are for the benefit primarily of Filipinos living in those areas. Jesus proclaimed, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (Jn. 7:37-38). Beginning in Jerusalem in Acts 2 the Apostles preached the gospel and the refreshing water of salvation still flows around the world today – and Filipinos are helping!
Filipino Christians find jobs all around the globe. I preached at the wedding of Teddy and “Bing” Gumpad in April of 2017, and they now work in London, England. They want to locate a church where they can worship. I will fly to London on January 29-30. Some British brethren will join us and I will teach Friday-Saturday at a hotel function room in a central location. Sunday we will proceed to the nearest congregation where I have also been invited to preach. We hope to make contact with additional Filipinos in the area. I plan to teach on “The Authority of Christ,” showing how men have changed the original gospel and the original church revealed by Christ, and also how we can restore the original truth of God’s Word.
Edwin Cortez is a Filipino brother working near Paris, France. A small congregation of Filipinos meet in his home. I have agreed to fly from London to Paris in order to meet with these brethren and hold studies for them and their contacts. The actual location is Asnieres-sur-Seine, about an hour from Paris. The series on “The Authority of Christ” will be presented here also on February 9-10.
My February 11 flight from Paris will go through Amsterdam, Netherlands and Tokyo, Japan (with an 8 hour layover), arriving in Manila at 8:35 PM on the following day. An all day gospel meeting is scheduled for Thursday with Andrew Romero at the Phase 6 church in Caloocan City, Metro Manila.
On the 15th I will fly to Tuguegarao, Cagayan and Rody Gumpad will take me directly to Santiago City, Isabela. I start Saturday teaching at Cordon where Domie and Frankie Jacob have labored for many years. The afternoon is scheduled at San Pascual, Diffun, Quirino with Roel Arcalas. Sunday will be full with appointments to preach at Gundaway, Cabarroguis (captial of Quirino) with Willie Pastor in the morning, then preach at Burgos, Cabarroguis, Quirino with Edgar Espiritu in the afternoon. Monday-Wednesday preachers will gather at the Disadeco Lodge at Diffun, Quirino where I will present the series on “The Bible Is the Word of God.” It is designed to show why there are 66 books, how we know these are the right books, why the apocrypha is not included, and how we know there are no “lost books of the Bible.”
After these studies end at noon on Wednesday, I will travel with Rody back to Tuguegarao and fly to Manila the next day. February 22-24 Lordy Salunga will join me to teach the book of Revelation to the deaf mute saints. Tony Hornado has done a good work with these brethren for many years. Elias Cruz is helping them scout for a regular meeting place to rent because they are being forced to move. I will look for funds to help them as needed. We hope the new arrangements will be completed by the time the classes begin.
February 25-26 I am scheduled to work with Ely Ebuenga. I am waiting for his final notification of the venues selected in Metro Manila for these two days.
The 27th is set aside for another visit to the Philippine Bible Society to buy Bibles in various dialects to be shipped to points throughout the nation. This is a high point of every trip!
God willing, I will return to Donna and the saints in Shepherdsville on Thursday, February 28.
