July 1, 2025th Year of Our Lord

Dear brethren,

God opened a door for me to preach in the Philippines in 1995 with Jim McDonald and I am preparing now for the 91st trip July 26-September 4, including a 3rd visit to Malaysia. The schedule includes the islands of Luzon, Panay, Negros, and Mindanao with lessons to save the lost and to edify the saved.

God gave disciples of Christ the name “Christian” because it means they belong to Christ as his adherents and his special possession. God chose to bestow this name when Gentiles as well as Jews were being saved in Christ at Antioch while Paul and Barnabas preached together: “And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch” (Acts 11:26). God is calling sinners to be saved in Christ and bestowing this blessed name on them in the Philippines, in Malaysia, and around the world!

I plan to fly from Louisville, Kentucky through Seoul, South Korea to Manila on July 26-27. The next day boxes brought on the plane will be shipped ahead to various venues. On the 29th James Paet will take me to Angeles City, Pampanga so that I can join hands with Lordy Salunga in a lectureship on “The Authority of Christ” at the Southside church July 30-31. I will return to Manila on August 1 to fly to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia where Nick Rowe labors as an evangelist. Two series will be presented August 2-6 with 4 sessions and an open forum each day: “The Authority of Christ” and “Moral Truth in an Amoral Age.”

A return flight will bring me to Manila on the 7th and I fly to Iloilo City, Panay the next day to meet Jack Jaco. Saturday lessons will be preached in Iloilo City to convert denominational people, then on the Lord’s Day we will work with Marvin Escudero at Guimbal, Iloilo before traveling to Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. August 11-13 we have appointments at Victorias City where Jack preaches, at Sagay City with Jerry de Erio and Jordan Cabras, then at Escalante City hosted by James Berden.

On the 14th I will fly to Manila and on to Zamboanga City, an independent city on the western tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula on Mindanao. Working with Alvin Miguel, we will preach August 15-17 on a variety of topics for both saints and sinners. The next day I will fly to Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental and work with Stephen Carpentero and other brethren through the 20th.

A flight will bring me to General Santos City, South Cotabato on the 21st and the next day is reserved for rest. On the 23rd Salvador Parbo will bring me to Telehek, Lake Sebu where Caesar (“Zacchaeus”) Lungkay preaches (a talented recent convert from denominationalism). A lectureship is planned in General Santos City at the Lanto church with Jolly Julom on “Moral Truth in an Amoral Age” on August 24-25. A series on “Life, Death, and Beyond” will be presented on the 26th-27th at Digos City, Davao del Sur where Julie Notarte labors, followed by a day of rest. The 29th we join with Joel Niniel at President Roxas, Capiz and the next day at Kidapawan City, Cotabato with Danny Angeles. I will work at Kapatagan with Dudley Balbin on the 31st. September 1 will be spent with Sonni Balbin at Davao City.

On the 2nd I fly to Manila and the next day purchase Bibles in various dialects at the Philippine Bible Society to be shipped throughout the Philippines. The 4th will bring me home to Donna and other loved ones!

Thank you for prayers and donations which make these trips possible! The Malaysia trip involves extra expenses, but it is well worth it to encourage these saints isolated in a Muslim nation. God will provide.
