Philippine Preaching Trip February 2026
PLEASE SHARE THIS LETTER ON GOSPEL PREACHING IN THE PHILIPPINES!
January 8, 2026th Year of Our Lord
Dear brethren,
God willing, I plan to preach in the Philippines February 2-25 for the 93rd time, thanks to Jim McDonald who introduced me to this work in 1995 by the grace of God. This trip will concentrate on the vital work of edifying the saints in regard to marriage and morals, along with opportunities to preach to the lost also.
The theme for these lessons of edification will be “God, Give Us Christian Homes,” based on Psalm 127, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” With the Bible as our textbook, we will use L.A. Stauffer’s study of “Family Life: a Biblical Perspective.”
February 2-4 will be spent traveling from Louisville, Kentucky to Inchon, South Korea and on to Manila, then a day taking care of errands and repacking boxes of Bibles and study materials to relay to the venues where I will teach. February 5-6 will be devoted to a Bible lectureship for the deaf-mute saints meeting at the Edsa-Pasay church in Metro Manila. The theme will be “Preparing for Eternity” with lessons on “Life & Death,” “When Peter Confessed Christ,” “Every Member at Every Service,” “Modest Dress through the Ages,” “After We Begin, What Then?” and “Two Attitudes Toward God’s Word: Conservative & Liberal.” Tonyboy Hornedo is the longtime deaf-mute evangelist laboring here and James Paet is encouraging them.
On the 7th I fly to Tuguegararo in the Province of Cagayan and will preach on the Lord’s Day at the Metro Tuguegarao church with Rody Gumpad. Monday-Thursday will be devoted to the theme “God, Give Us Christian Homes” using the workbook of L.A. Stauffer on “Family Life,” hosted by Rody. This includes “Biblical Perspective,” “Atmosphere of Love,” “Love Your Wives,” “Head of the Wife,” “Be Subjection,” “A Help Meet,” “Train Up a Child,” “Honor Thy Parents,” “Parents” “What God Hath Joined Together,” “Committeth Adultery,” & “Ten Rules for Picking a Mate.” Filipinos requested I teach this series again as I have in the past because immorality runs wide and deep in their culture, affecting saints and their families. Preachers will attend the lectureship in the hope of equipping them to teach these lessons far and wide.
Friday, the 13th, will be used to fly to General Santos City in southern Mindanao. Saturday is reserved for study and rest. On the Lord’s Day I will worship with the Balite church of Christ, General Santos City with Delfin Alas and also preach at the Silway 8 church of Christ, Polomolok, South Cotabato with Parbo Salvador. “God, Give Us Christian Homes” will be the theme in General Santos City February 16-19 in a rented function room which can accommodate these lectures for evangelists.
Lectures on “United, We Stand” will be presented at the Lanton church of Christ in General Santos City on February 19-20. This series appeals to preachers to stand united without compromise regarding the fundamentals of the faith revealed in Scripture while extending mutual patience for growth and personal issues.
The Lord’s Day will be spent with the Lanton church of Christ with Jolly Julom and also with the Kyumad church of Christ, Maasim, Sarangani with Alan Moyak. Monday I fly to Manila to buy Bibles in Filipino dialects at the Philippine Bible Society on Tuesday. Wednesday, I return home, God willing.
