Preach in Philippines & Malayasia November 30 – December 21, 2026

PLEASE SHARE THIS LETTER ON GOSPEL PREACHING IN THE PHILIPPINES!

October 20, 2026th Year of Our Lord

Dear brethren,

November 30-December 21 I make the 96th preaching trip to the Philippines with a 4th trip to Malayasia.  I thank Jim McDonald who introduced me to this work. Greg Walker (Hebron Lane church in Shepherdsville, KY) will go with me to stay in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.  Tim Torno and Darren Martin will join me for the first time from the West Main church in Lewisville, TX (Nov. 30-Dec. 14).  Lordy Salunga from the Southside church  in Angeles City, Pampanga will join the trip to Malayasia as we work with Nick Rowe the 12th-18th.

As Paul traveled and preached on one occasion, he received a vision at Troas: “There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us” (Acts 16:9).  During this time of a great harvest in the Philippines and a meager harvest in Malayasia, saints in those lands plead, “Come help us!”

November 30-December 1 Greg and I fly from Louisville, KY and Tim and Darren from Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX to meet in Manila.  Wednesday we repack boxes of study materials to ship ahead, run errands, and possibly visit the Manila American Cemetery where thousands of U.S. servicemen from WW II are buried.

On the 3rd, all four of us will fly to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and visit Santiago City, Isabela where  Samuel Graneta labors the next day.  He is a well-known longtime faithful evangelist.  Bernardo Quibina from the churches at Inmalog and Sison, Pangasinan will meet us there.  Saturday we travel to Remus Baggao, Cagayan Valley to work with Sammy Paet, and Jerry Calastravo from the Ilocos region will meet us. Sammy and his father Virgil have been doing fruitful work at Remus for many years.  Sunday we worship at the church in Tuguegarao City with Rody Gumpad and at the Dagupan church with Mark Daquioag.  Attendance at Tuguegarao keeps growing and the seating was recently expanded.  180 souls attended their most recent gospel meeting.

Tim, Darren, and I fly on the 7th to Cebu City, Cebu in order to preach at Sta. Cruz, Yati Liloan, Cebu with Roy Matta the next day.  Pablo Espinoza converted Roy from the Baptist denomination in 2007 and he has continued preaching the original gospel of Christ many years.  Willie Pelino from Ormoc City, Leyte will meet us there for all-day preaching.  It is sad we cannot stay longer on Cebu Island, but Tim and Darren have a tight schedule.

We fly to Davao City on Mindanao on the 9th, then travel almost 3 hours on Thursday to reach Maco, Davao de Oro and work with Rickly Lumapay. Benjie Notarte from Sonlon, Asunicon, Daval del Norte plans to meet us there since our limited time prevents us from visiting his place.  Friday, Tim and Darren preach at Digos City, Davao del Sur with Julie Notarte, where many preachers and other saints will join them.  Saturday, Tim and Darren return to Manila, worship on Sunday at Edsa-Pasay with James Paet, and fly home Monday.

While they are at Digos City on Friday, I must fly to Manila to catch a Saturday flight to Kota Kinabalu in the state of Sabah, East Malaysia to work with Nick Rowe and all the saints there.  Lordy Salunga from the Angeles City church on Luzon will also make his second trip to Malayasia.  Nick has labored for many years to spread the gospel in this Muslim country.  He and his wife were converted by Andy de Klerk while attending a college in Iowa in 1985.  The church is tolerated but not registered with the government and their visibility is limited.  I will teach a series on “Life, Death, & Beyond” with 4 sessions per day and an open forum, sharing the time with Lordy.  They outgrew Nick’s home and meet in a rented facility but are isolated.  Nick needs financial support.  Are there saints anywhere who would like to uphold the hands of a gospel preacher in a Muslim nation?

Lordy and I return to Manila on the 18th.  I will buy Filipino Bibles, meet Greg the next day, worship at Kapitbahayan, Navotas on Sunday, and we fly back to our loved ones at home on the 21st, God willing.
